Celebrate the vibrancy, colour and flavours of the Chinese New Year!

With a dazzling array of award-winning illuminations and entertainment, Spirit of the Orient will be bursting with light every evening from 18th – 26th February.

2022 sees the celebration of the Year of the Tiger! 

The evenings will see a vibrant fusion of sound, colour, illuminations and flavours merging to create a truly immersive experience. Featuring impressive light exhibits, large-scale inflatable displays, an interactive dragon procession, lion dances and plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained; the park will truly come alive in celebration of the Chinese New Year. 


Spirit of the Orient is the first event included in the 2022 Robin Hill and Joint Park Frequent Visitor Passes.

The year of the Tiger

We’ve teamed up with the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary and their charity, the Wildheart Trust for the year of other Tiger!

The Wildheart Trust is a registered charity dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the health of the natural world while actively improving the well-being of animals in human care. The Trust runs the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary which has been at the heart of the Isle of Wight community for over 60 years.

Experience the dazzling Chinese Lion Dance performances, accompanied by a unique soundscape for a spectacular illuminated show. In China, Lions are used in celebratory events to symbolise strength, stability and superiority, and the dance is said to chase off evil spirits!

Panda Sanctuary

Deep in the ancient woodland, surrounded by bamboo, discover the Panda Sanctuary where you’ll have the chance to meet life-sized pandas, Blossom and Ping. Symbolising peace and friendship, these cheeky characters will be up to all sorts of mischief!

Dragon Procession

This giant 12-metre Dragon Procession will make its way around the park’s Woodland Ponds. Learn about this legendary creature during the procession from its origins to its symbolism in the Chinese culture, power, strength, and good luck.

Wishing Tree

Tie your hopes and dreams to the branches of the Wishing Tree to welcome good fortune for the year ahead. Legend tells the tale that those whose wishes reach the highest branches are most likely to come true

Oriental Cuisine

Make your way to the The Ponds outlet for some alfresco dining. Sample the culinary delights of the Orient with our authentic menu. Dietary requirements catered for. Menu details to be released soon.
