What a crazy year 2020 was for Sky High Night Glow!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us, from our wonderful guests to our sponsors, pilot crews and of course, our incredible team members who worked under unprecedented conditions to make this event happen!

We’ve pulled together some of our favourite photos from this year’s event below. If you’ve got some of your own, don’t forget to share them with us via social media. Tag #RobinHill for your chance to be featured!

Sky High Night Glow

The sky’s the limit as magnificent hot air balloons float back into Robin Hill this August for a three-day extravaganza!

Running daily from 5pm – 10pm from 20th – 22nd August with spectacular Night Glow displays every evening this year, there’s even more opportunity to see the balloons in action!

The park’s Lower Valley will be a hive of activity with hot air balloon crews tethering, performing inflation races and attempting mass launches from site!

You’ll have the chance to marvel at balloons, meet the pilots as they answer all your ballooning questions and soak up the atmosphere with live music in the Valley!

The safety of our staff and customers is of the highest importance and the layout of this outdoor event will ensure all precautions and guidelines are adhered to. Activity will be taking place on our vast Lower Valley field with plenty of space to sit back, relax and enjoy this extraordinary display in a safe environment.

As we found last year, hot air balloon activity is highly weather dependant and relies on stable air and calm winds. The winds tend to be at their lightest during the cooler part of the day, so our programme reflects this with activity planned for the late afternoon onward

Frequently Asked Questions & T&Cs

How do I book tickets?

Day and evening-only tickets van be purchased online now! Simply select a date between 20th – 22nd August and you’ll be shown the available ticket options.

If you’re a Frequent Visitor Pass holder, simply book one of your visits on a date between 20th – 22nd August and you’ll be able to access the park anytime from 10am – 10pm.

Is the event included in an FVP?

Yes! As a Frequent Visitor Pass holder, you’ll simply need to book a visit as normal online for one of the Sky High Night Glow event dates (20th – 22nd) and you’ll have access to the park from 10m – 10pm!

What happens if it rains or is too windy?

As we found last year, hot air balloon activity is highly weather dependant and relies on stable air and calm winds. The winds tend to be at their lightest during the cooler part of the day, so our programme reflects this with activity planned for the late afternoon and evening.

In the event of the weather being too windy or it raining, balloon activity will not take place. This will include the Night Glow finale show, however, should inflation of the balloon envelopes not be possible, our team will endeavour to put on a basket burner show as a minimum.

Please note: as per our standard Terms & Conditions, all tickets are non-refundable and no refunds will be given as a result of balloon activity not taking place due to unsuitable weather conditions.

What COVID-safe measures are in place?

In addition to the existing exemplary COVID-safe measures in place at the park (which you can read more about here), we will be implementing additional measures to ensure social distancing is possible for all guests throughout the event. As well as clear distancing markers within all viewing areas, there will be stewards on-hand to manage the flow of guests throughout the Lower Valley. The focus of this event is the vast, open-air Lower Valley area of the park which lends itself perfectly to socially distanced outdoor activity.

We do insist that ALL of our guests cooperate with us and adhere to the measures we’ve put in place – they are there to ensure both your safety, the safety of our staff and the safety of all other guests on site. If any guests are seen to be not adhering to these measures, they will be asked to leave the site.

Can I visit on a different day to the one I booked?

To ensure the safety of all our staff and guests and that social distancing is possible within the park, we have implemented capacity limits for this event.

We strongly advise that all guests wishing to experience Sky High Night Glow book their ticket or FVP visit in advance online. It is possible that these event dates will sell out ahead of time and walk-ups will NOT be permitted once capacity limits have been reached.

Can I visit on one of my 7 day returns?

To ensure the safety of all our staff and guests and that social distancing is possible within the park, we have implemented capacity limits for this event.

Walk-ups will NOT be permitted once capacity limits have been reached, therefore we strongly advise that all guests wishing to experience Sky High Night Glow book their ticket specifically in advance online to guarantee entry.

Return visits will only be valid after 5pm on Sky High Night Glow event dates, subject to capacity. As return customers cannot book their return visits, we suggest that any visitors wanting to come to Sky High Night Glow specifically, buy their ticket with a first visit date being one of the event days.

Is the event accessible?

The focus of this event will be within our vast Lower Valley field. This is accessible to those with additional accessibility requirements, however we do advise anyone using a wheelchair has a strong helper with them as there are some steep hills back to the top of the park.

Our Tractor Train is not currently in operation as a result of our COVID-safe risk assessment process.

You can find more specific accessibility information here.
